The series of CMIS symposia started in 1992 in Lausanne, and the last 7th CMIS was held in Abu Dhabi in 2014. Following the tradition of CMIS symposia, the aim of this symposium is to gather researchers from the mathematical and engineering communities working on various aspects of contact mechanics using theoretical, experimental and computational approaches.
The 8th CMIS symposium will be held at the Institute of Fundamental Technological Research (IPPT) in Warsaw, Poland on May 11-13, 2016.
